Introduction

Training of employees can be done in several ways. The most common are formal training, informal, self-directed, cross-training and job rotation. In this case, formal training will be done because it involves a careful proceeding that assesses what the knowledge, skills or abilities that the employees need. Also, the training has a design that includes identifying the goals and objectives, training methods to meet the aims and ways of evaluating the objectives if they were met or not. The training plan is developed basing on the following steps; conducting need assessment, the readiness of the employees for the training, creating a learning environment, development of an evaluation plan, selection of training method and monitoring and evaluation of the program.

Training on Legal and Ethical Behavior

The training equips the staff with the knowledge on how to maintain ethical behavior and comply with the set laws and regulation of the professional practice. The training will take four weeks, and the training will be done in the CSA conference hall. The staffs to be trained are all the employees in the organization, but it will be done in different session because they have various legal regulations and different expectations on the ethical behavior. For example mental health and substance abuse counselor, peer support specialists, physiatrists and interns will be trained on the same legal and ethical behavior because they deal directly with the clients.

The training objectives include; to find out the knowledge and skills of the employees on the expected legal and ethical behavior, to equip the employees with the knowledge on the professional ethics and legal requirements and their implications and finally to assess the compliance of the employees to the set law, regulations, and ethical considerations.

 The training will be done on the following topics: an introduction to professional legislation and regulations and ethical code of conduct, a review of the laws applicable in ethics and the expected ethical and legal behavior of the employees. Also, they will train on the importance of compliance to the rules, the common ethical dilemmas that employees undergo, the consequences of not breaking the laws and regulations and lack of compliance with the ethical code of conduct and conclusion. The materials to be used include; handouts with the code of ethics and the set laws and regulations, videos showing the delivery of services client in an ethical manner and scenarios of ethical and professional misconduct and the constitution.

Cultural Competence Training

 For professionals to work effectively in a cross-cultural situation, they must have a set of behavior, attitudes and policies that come together into their system. CSA has a diverse set of employees and the clients from various religions, races and having different cultural beliefs. It increases respect, creativity, trust, helps overcome the fear of mistakes, promotes equality and encourages participation from various cultural groups.

Training will take two weeks, and it will be done outside the organization in a commercial conferences facility. The staffs that are attending the training include middle-level supervisor and the employees they supervise. The objective of the training includes: to equip the professionals with skills on how to deal with diverse populations and also to find out strategies for bridging language barriers. The organization of the presentation; introduction to the required cultural competence of the team, how to deal with the various client with different cultural beliefs, language barriers and how to handle them and the various challenges employees face in the cultural competence and their solutions. Videos, handouts, and pretest will be used to conduct the training.

Training on How to Maintain Professional Boundaries

It describes the extent to which the client and the professional and even among the professionals themselves should relate. The training will be one for one week in the CSA board room and the staff who are attending the training are those who deal with the clients directly and patient information e.g. psychiatrists, medical records, interns, administrative assistant, nurses, peer support specialist and mental health counselor. The objectives are: to educate the staff on the different professional boundaries and the importance of maintaining the boundaries. The training will be on the following; introduction to the various professional boundaries, how to keep the boundaries, and the importance of maintaining g the boundaries. Handouts, simulations, videos, posttests and exercises will be sued to deliver the required information.

Training on Conflict Resolution

Training will take three weeks, and it will be outside the facility conference center, and all the staff will attend the training on conflict resolution. The objectives of the training include; training the staff on how to solve a conflicting issue and educate them on the existing policies of conflict resolution and how it works. The training content will be delivered on the following topics; introduction to conflict resolution, principles of empathetic conflict solving, the various policies on conflict resolution and how they work and the different situation the might lead to conflict and how to handle them. The material to be used includes simulations, videos, handouts and other real life examples of conflict and solutions.

Conclusion

Training plan is a very essential tool as it gives clear guideline on what to do when conducting training. It ensures all the topics to be addressed in the training re covered and it will keep that trainee on focus. Also when budgeting for the training plan is useful as it will provide the information require so as to allocate funds.
