When my siblings were sleeping at night, I would lie on my back and stare at the roof visualizing this moment; a moment that would not only define my life, but also my family future. Since childhood my mother ingrained me with of ethos of hard work and respect. Watching her wake up earlier than anyone to work every morning reinforced what she taught. Born in a Vietnamese economically disadvantaged family, meant I had to work harder than anyone. Some of my sibling despaired due to our situation, but I always saw it as a privilege. It was a moment to shine and show the world that hardships in life are just incentives for success foundation. I have never seen my personal problems as a reason not to give my best. I have performed well throughout my childhood education and passed my examinations. My junior high education almost hit a snag when our economic situation forced us to move. The environmental change meant that I had to adapt and make new friends at a new school while maintaining my performance. I remember watching some of my schoolmates with expensive stuff and boasting luxurious accessories. I had more than expensive assets; I had my mind and drive. The drive to change the world around me and my family situation. The mind to withstand all these challenges and pursue my dreams either way with full determination. An immigrant from an economically disadvantaged family, this made me an underdog in the eyes of common logic. But what do I love more than a challenge and winning when the odds are against me. To impact the world is difficult and enough, I have to be doing what I love. Studying a degree in Accounting is my holy grail; I could do it for free.
Practicing Accounting means I would not have to wait for the alarm to wake me up. It means I will not work for a single day; I will do what I love with passion and tenacity. I love puzzles and mathematics; Accounting epitomizes that in every detail. Sometime I conceptualize working on a block chain program project and I feel goose bumps all over my body.
