Nonverbal communication is the utilization of the body, environment, and individual attributes so as to impart messages either intentionally or unintentionally. This paper will utilize the above photograph to analyze the different observable cues that are in the photo.

 

One of the observable non-verbal cues evident in the photograph is body gestures. A body gesture refers to a movement that is made with a limb, particularly the hands, to express, emphasize or support the intention or attitude of the speaker. This non-verbal cue is often utilized in oral discourse. The two gentlemen in the photograph appear to be using this non-verbal cue while explaining a point to each other. Their hands are moving as they are communicating to each other. This non-verbal cue is very significant when the eyes of the audience are on the one passing communication. It is a necessary tool in assisting the gentlemen to build their credibility, express their emotions, as well as connect with each other.
