The use of Animals in Scientific Research is Inhumane | MyPaperHub

New medicines are been discovered every day, and animals find themselves been part of the discovery as the scientists experiment the safety and efficiency of the drugs on them. Animals like human beings have feelings and emotions which scientific experiments tend to ignore as well as depriving the right to good health and humane treatment. Animals become the recipient of all kinds of drugs whether good or harmful without minding how greatly affected they will be. (Carbone, 2011).

Scientific experiments may be done through surgeries or even through injections. In either way, animals used to go through a lot of pain. Over the recent days, their scientists have been using anesthesia to enable animals to feel minimal pain though still after few minutes the pain comes back. Sometimes a lot of injections are used and painful scars are left in the body of the animal used. Presently, the public policy allows humans to use animals in experiments and leave them with unalleviated pain. This is done by administering pain relief medicines may interfere with the results. (Carbone, 2011).

Scientific experiments involve drugs whose effects are not clearly known. Sometimes, when tested on animals they leave side effects that may take long before correcting them while others are completely irreversible defects leaving the animal to endure them for life. After the experiments, a bigger percentage of the animals suffer infections and poisoning from non-certified drugs which sometimes lead to death. About operations, some animals do not survive due to either the surgery was not correctly done or the animal was weak health wise to go through an operation. Therefore, the use of animals in scientific research is not just inhumane but also moral decay. (Carbone, 2011).
