Thyroid Glands
Physical
Ellie
is a university student finding a very had time to concentrate and study. Her
heart rate is very high; her concentration is low, she can't sleep, she has
lost a lot of weight, and her eyes have bulged out. She has a swelling on her
neck is always jittery. She also seems to have developed a sinus infection. The
above are some of the physical challenges that Ellie is suffering from as a
result of her condition. Her high heart rate has lowered her concentration by
increasing her anxiety. It is also what’s is making her lack sleep at night.
Psychological
These
conditions are causing a lot of psychological problems for Ellie. Her anxiety
is limiting her from having full concentration while studying. She has tried a
combination of learning methods, but they still do not work. Her exams results
are worsening while she puts in more effort in each attempt. The problem is
associated with her lack of concentration. This is a problem that is making her
unable to retain most of the information she tries to learn. Her lack of sleep
is tiring her, and she is constantly in the toilet. She is stressed out from
all the situation because her grades are low and she fears she could lose her
scholarships.
Ellie
has a health problem that emanates from her thyroid gland. The doctor found
swelling on Ellie's neck and asked for further tests which found that her
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone is very low. He also concluded that she has Graves’
disease that is causing all the abnormalities in her Thyroid. The disease is
what has been causing her high heart rate and thus her lack of sleep and
concentration that is affecting her studies. The doctor recommended her to an
endocrinologist who would provide more advice on the issue.
